RN-BSN, Nursing

    The RN to BSN Bridge online degree is for students who are Registered Nurses (RNs) and who desire to further their nursing education and expand their career opportunities by completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The broad knowledge base found in the BSN program provides the opportunity for RNs to gain the competencies necessary to excel in the current and future healthcare job market.

    Delivery: Fully Online
    Term: Accelerated. 6/8 weeks
    Credit Hours: 30
    Starts: Fall, Spring, Summer
    Time to Complete: 1 Year (Three Semesters) if Enrolled Full-Time

    Admission Requirements

    • An active RN License in your state of residence
    • Nursing degree (AS, AAS, or diploma in Nursing) from a nationally accredited nursing program
    • Completion of at least 60 transferable credit hours with a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.70
      • 8 nursing prerequisite courses with a grade of “C” or better including: Social Science; Lifespan Developmental Psychology; Elementary Statistics; Human Nutrition; Microbiology with Lab; Anatomy & Physiology I&II with Labs; one additional science
      • General education requirements as determined by the state of Florida and the university
      • A foreign language requirement, that you may have fulfilled while in high school if you successfully completed two consecutive years of a language
      • A civic literacy requirement

MSN, Nursing Education

    The Master’s in Nursing Education prepares nurses with the teaching and research skills necessary to effectively lead students, clinical staff, and patients in various settings. The curriculum integrates core graduate level concepts such as patient safety and research with advanced clinical concepts and evidence‐based pedagogy to prepare nurses for roles in education within the community, college settings or healthcare agencies. The program curriculum includes all nurse educator competencies to prepare students to obtain Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credentials upon graduation (must meet NLN eligibility criteria).

    Delivery: Fully Online
    Term: Traditional. 16 weeks
    Credit Hours: 34
    Time to Complete: 1.5 Years (Four Semesters) Full-Time Enrollment Required

MSN, Nursing Leadership and Administration

    The Master’s in Nursing Leadership prepares nurses to successfully manage and lead healthcare services across a variety of settings. The degree incorporates evidence-based knowledge into practice to improve healthcare outcomes in response to emerging trends and issues in practice and healthcare. The curriculum builds on leadership, evaluation, and organizational management methods to improve healthcare delivery in today’s complex care settings. Graduates are prepared with the requisite knowledge to take the ANCC Nurse Executive certification exam upon graduation (must meet ANCC eligibility criteria).

    Delivery: Fully Online
    Term: Traditional. 16 weeks
    Credit Hours: 34
    Time to Complete: 1.5 Years (Four Semesters) Full-Time Enrollment Required

Post-MSN DNP, Administrative Track

    The Post-MSN Doctor of Nursing Practice, administration track post-graduate degree is designed for those who already possess, at a minimum, a Master of Science in Nursing and specialty certification. This practice-focused degree program is for advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) in the following roles: Nurse Executives and Nurse Executives Advanced (NE-BC & NEA-BC) as well as others with a MSN in a non-APRN role.

    Delivery: Fully Online
    Term: Accelerated. 6/8 weeks
    Credit Hours: 48
    Time to Complete: 2 Years (Five to Six Semesters) if Enrolled Full-Time

    Admission Requirements

    *Applicants with coursework earned from institutions outside the United States are required to provide a course-by-course foreign college transcript evaluation of all attended non-U.S. institutions. The evaluation must be from an  approved third-party accredited evaluation service. The UNF Graduate School accepts evaluations from all agencies that are a member of  NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services). We recommend:  Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. or  World Education Services. To determine academic eligibility for admissions, academic credentials must be, 1) translated to English; 2) evaluated course-by-course; and 3) include the overall academic GPA.

    The Post-MSN Doctor of Nursing Practice, practice track post-graduate degree is for those who already possess, at a minimum, a Master of Science in Nursing and specialty certification. This practice-focused degree program is for advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) in the following roles: Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM); Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS); Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA); Nurse Practitioners (NP).

    Time to Complete: 2 Years (Five to Six Semesters) if Enrolled Full-Time

      • UNF Graduate School admission requirements
      • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)* degree from an acceptable institutional accredited institution
        • ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
        • Minimum graduate GPA or a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
      • Active RN or APRN license in your state of residence - copy of actual licensure is required
      • Active National certification in one of the following roles: CNM, CNS, CRNA, or NP - copy of actual certificate showing expiration date is required
      • Resume or Curriculum Vitae
